Act nothing in a furious passion. It’s putting to sea in a storm.

Day 40: Using Anger as a Warning

If you are feeling anger, you are experiencing an unmet need. When you recognize it as a warning signal, it can be a lifeserving tool. There is no hard and fast rule that we must instantly react to our anger. Nor is there a statute of limitations on expressing it.

So, rather than react to your anger immediately, take the time to examine it and to discover your unmet need embodied in the judgment that is greater opportunity to resolve the situation in ways that are satisfying to everyone involved.

See your anger as a warning signal that you have an unmet need today and resist acting immediately.
