Your most comprehensive resource for developing
a local NVC practice or training community
Throughout the world, supporters of the NVC process have developed practice groups, teams and formal organizations that provide ongoing support, practice and training in their geographic area. Since learning the NVC process is often equated with learning a whole new language, the needs met within a learning community can be substantial.
Help Share NVC Community Forum—Scheduled for launch in mid-2005, this is an online forum for idea-sharing and discussion related to the growth of NVC worldwide. Share your ideas for creating life-serving volunteer teams, formal NVC training organizations, etc.

CREATING COMMUNITY
Do you wish for the support of a consistent learning community committed to the NVC consciousness? Would you like to form a local practice group? Are you used to being part of an NVC community but have moved to an area where one does not exist?
Bringing NVC to your area doesn't have to involve the creation of a formalized organization or team. It could be as simple as starting a practice group, or hosting an NVC video viewing in your home. At the same time, creating a more formalized NVC community, team or organization also has its benefits. These tools are intended to get you started with creating a local NVC practice/learning community - whether this is involves just a few people or 50.

WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT TOOLS
Developing a website can be a complicated task. From purchasing a domain name, to developing a website, and hosting your completed site, web development can easily become overwhelming if you're unsure where to start. The sample web plans below are only intended as a general guide. Your project should always begin with a careful assessment of your web-related goals, your budget, your skills, and some research into other sites that you really enjoy.
- Basic Informational Site—For a small team or organization (no workshop offerings)
- Moderate Site—For multiple teams or communities hoping for resource sharing or collaboration
- Complex Site—For multiple communities and/or including an administrative section that allows username/password access to add/edit or delete workshop listings, practice group listings, etc. We have not included a site plan for this concept because we recommend that you hire a professional web developer for this project (as it involves substantial technical development).

RECRUITMENT TOOLS
Finding local support to help you share NVC and build a local NVC community or support system isn't as complicated or difficult as it may seem. We envision recruitment not as finding more or new people to help you out, but instead as a process of making very clear requests about the type of support that will be helpful in your effort. With this vision, we believe recruitment of volunteers-and eventually the formation of a complete team or organization-can be a very enjoyable and rewarding step. The specific titles of the roles are not as important as the clarity in what requests you will have of the individual serving in this role. Use these samples as a starting place-modify and add to each as you see fit.
