Nobel Peace Prize Nomination Effort
By Julie Ratner

Dear NVC Supporter,

Greetings:

I appreciate your interest in reading about the Nobel Peace Prize Nomination effort. I jump for joy when I imagine how awareness of NVC around the globe spreads even in the ‘coordination’ of this project!

Please assist me in finding a local coordinator in 50 countries and all states and provinces in N. America by the end of 2006. Here are ways to support the project and learn more:
1. Signup to be a volunteer http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=571482560255

2. Download the 3 pg portfolio and/or read about our progress nvc_nobel_peace_project-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

Please understand this is long-term project that requires sustained commitment for success. Most peace-keepers (or organizations) are nominated many times over many years and only a handful are honored with the prize. I have devoted 2 years already and am planning to support it up to 10 years, if necessary.

This year's 3-pg 'nomination portfolio' is now ready for volunteers to deliver and present to NVC champions who are eligible to nominate Marshall. In my research, I have learned that only certain distinguished individuals can submit proposals for an award, for example:

1. Members of national assemblies and governments of states;

2. Members of international courts;

3. University rectors; professors of social sciences, history, philosophy, law and theology; directors of peace research institutes and foreign policy institutes;

4. Persons who have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize (i.e., laureates);

5. Board members of organizations who have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize;

6. Active and former members of the Norwegian Nobel Committee; (proposals by members of the Committee to be submitted no later than at the first meeting of the Committee after February 1, 2007) and

7. Former advisers appointed by the Norwegian Nobel Institute.

I appreciate your support and encouragement for this project!

I apologize for the cross-posting of this email; I am hoping to connect with the ENTIRE community. Many blessings and thoughts of hope and peace to all.
